Hi
Slightly off topic, so apologies, but does anyone know which in kernel
version remote control support for cx88 cards was added. Im using 2.6.9
(-1.667 FC3) patched with All-2.6.9-rc4.diff.gz, the card works fine but the
remote control isnt detected. I tried 2.6.11 (FC3 again) and the remote
control was picked up. Theres a cx88-input.c in the 2.6.11 code, but not in
2.6.9. Unfortunately I cant get mythtv to work the the later kernel so Im
stuck with 2.6.9. Any ideas on how to get the remote working?
Hi Neil,
for the 2.6.9 just download Gerds 20050426 snapshot (only update for
README.patches) from
dl.bytesex.org/cvs-snapshots dl.bytesex.org/cvs-snapshots
As you seem to have a custom compiled version and no dvb stuff is
involved, you should be done after removing the old duplicate modules
from /lib/modules/uname-r/kernel/drivers/media and common and
"depmod -a".
It compiles also on unpatched original FC2/3 kernels from 2.6.9 to
2.6.11 with the exported object tree after copying some missing headers
to /lib/modules/uname -r/build/* accordingly. (can send them)
Consider also to download the input tools there. You can dump the keymap
of your keyboard and remote and load a new one for the remote at runtime
modified to your liking. (your keycode is in ir-common.c, remote types
can differ ...)
Greetings,
Hermann
